Miss Fraser and Primary 4

This afternoon some of the Primary 4 children were busy working together to finish 9 Scooby Doo jigsaws! Amazing!

Nikita was busy learning his 2 times table this afternoon!

Today Leah was selected to be our PATHS kid. She received some lovely compliments! Have a look!

Today we were looking at rhythm. We were plucking rhythms on the violin or using the claves. We also looked at the different parts of the bow. Well done to Alyssa and Jay who played their very own composition in front of the whole class! They were brilliant!

Primary 4 were busy entertaining some visitors this morning with our knowledge of the four forces of flight! Today we were looking at the push force, thrust. We created our own balloon rockets then made our own film canister rockets outside. What a fabulous day we have had!

We have been learning about the four forces of flight - lift, thrust, drag and weight. Today we were looking at the force of drag. We created our own gyrocopters and tested these in class.

Zoe was very excited to show off her brand new electric wheel chair to the class today!

This afternoon after learning all about the lift force, we made our own plane models. We flew these in the playground to see the difference wind, weight and drag had on the flight. We had lots of fun!

This afternoon we were learning about the four forces of flight. We were looking at the 'lift' force and the role aerofoil wings play in helping a plane fly. Fast flowing air in the top of the wing results in low pressure. Slow flowing air under the wing results in high pressure . This higher pressure under the wing is a greater force than the force acting downwards on a plane, therefore creating lift. We used a ping pong ball and a hairdryer to demonstrate the Bernoulli Effect.

Well done to Gulshin and Kian who represented Primary 4 by laying our class wreath at today's Remembrance Service.

For Halloween this year, Junior dressed up as a Tunnock's Caramel Wafer Biscuit. His Aunty sent his photo off to Tunnock's after our school Halloween Disco. This morning, Junior received a very exciting gift in the post from Tunnock's! He couldn't wait to share this news with his friends!

Today Primary 4 were learning about the three forces: push, pull and collision. They were set a challenge to think of as many push and pull forces as they could in a given time! Results will be shared tomorrow... Did you know that a force can: • move an object • speed up an object • slow down an object • change the direction of an object • change the shape of an object

We have had a fabulous week with lots of learning taking place! This afternoon at target time children were drawing, playing games and making structures.
