Outdoor Learning with Miss Guthrie

Yesterday morning, Primary 4 were very lucky and got to do Big Maths outside with Miss Guthrie.

We were split in to groups of 3 and we were given either a short willow stick or a long willow stick. We had to estimate the length or height of objects in the playground and measure them using the sticks. We had some very keen groups measuring the length of the playground using their sticks!

When we went back inside, we measured the sticks. The short stick was 50cm in length and the long stick was 1m in length. We used this information to calculate the length or height of the objects from the playground.

We can't wait for next week!
